Book review

This book can be confidently stated as one of the most influential books in my life. It explores the concept that life itself is an algorithm, encompassing even emotions and thoughts. It delves into the idea that animals, too, possess emotions and thoughts. It challenges the notion that humans are inherently special as a species, emphasizing that we are merely a product of evolution. However, it also highlights that humans are the only species to have reached the technological level of creating AI.

Yuval Noah Harari, author of the critically-acclaimed New York Times bestseller and international phenomenon Sapiens, returns with an equally original, compelling, and provocative book, turning his focus toward humanity’s future, and our quest to upgrade humans into gods. Over the past century humankind has managed to do the impossible and rein in famine, plague, and war. This may seem hard to accept, but, as Harari explains in his trademark style—thorough, yet riveting—famine, plague and war…

Furthermore, it suggests that humans will eventually merge with machines through brain-machine interfaces. There is speculation that humans may gain control over aging, potentially achieving a state of eternal youth and even transcending into “Homo Deus” or god-like beings. In this tumultuous era, we are forced to contemplate our identity and how we should live our lives.
