Ken selected as Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Bearer
The flame represents the Olympic ideals of peace, unity and friendship
The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games has selected Ken Takahashi as a torch bearer after a long process of rigorous review.
The torch was ignited several months before the Games in front of the Temple of Hera, the archeological site of Olympia, and the holy land of the ancient Olympic Games. The flame is then carried by a torch bearer to the venue. On the day of the opening ceremony, the final runner ignites the cauldron in the main stadium. The cauldron stays alight until the end of the event.
