2006年2月20日・中日新聞尾張版朝刊27面 無重力状態での人体の影響学ぶ　一宮のYAC 日本宇宙少年団（YAC）一宮分団の子どもたちが十九日、一宮市富士三丁目の中日ホームサービスで、宇宙と人間の体についての講義を聞いた＝写真。 講師は名古屋大学大学院の高橋賢研究員（三三）。写真を示しながら「宇宙に行くと、骨や筋肉が減るなどいろいろな影響が出てくる」と説明。「無重力状態では骨に力がかからないので、骨の中がすかすかになってしまう。宇宙では予防のために機械を使って運動しているんですよ」などと話した。 子どもたちは「地球に帰ってきたら骨ば元に戻るの」「予防のための薬は何種類ありますか」などと積極的に質問し理解を深めていた。（中日新聞）

JAXA有人閉鎖環境閉鎖試験 ユーリ・ガガーリンの有人宇宙初飛行（1961年）から50年、人類は長期間にわたって宇宙空間に住むことができるようになった。宇宙滞在の長期化によって生じる問題に、精神・心理的ストレスがある。その原因は：

October 11, 2001.Ken Takahashi attended a medical experiment regarding space medicine as a subject. The experiment was carried out using the parabolic flight with G-II airplane, which generates ~20 second microgravity for 10-20 times. 地球上で無重力（正確には微小重力）状態を作ろうとすると、物体を自由落下させなければならない。フリーフォールはまさにこの状態であるが、落下する距離が120m程度なので無重力状態になるは数秒間だけである。 しかし飛行機で上空高く上がれば落下距離を稼ぐことができるので、20秒間という比較的長い無重力状態を作ることができる。これがパラボリックフライトである。 2001年10月11日、高橋は宇宙医学実験の被験者としてパラボリックフライトを体験した。名古屋大学環境医学研究所の岩瀬敏助教授（現・愛知医科大学教授）の研究プロジェクトである。このフライトで高橋は約20秒間の微小重力状態を17回体験した。

Ken Takahashi attended the 52nd International Astronautical Congress held in Toulouse, France from October 1st to 5th in 2001, as a student delegate from National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA). He gave a poster presentation at that conference. 私にとって、宇宙開発事業団NASDA（現宇宙航空研究開発機構JAXA）の選抜で2001年のIAC派遣プログラムに参加できたことは、人生のブレイクスルーだった。 選考の1年前、岐阜県土岐市で行われた「無重量セミナー」なる会合で、私は1999年（初回）のIAC派遣プログラムに参加したM氏と、運命的な出会いを果たす。 M氏の情報により、NASDAが国際宇宙連盟(IAF)と協力し、1999年より国際宇宙連盟大会（IAC)への学生派遣プログラムを行っていることを知り、私の体に衝撃が走った。 IACは、宇宙関連の会合で世界最大の規模を誇る。毎年1回行われ、数千人の参加者が世界各国から集う。今後の宇宙開発の方向が定められていく現場だ。 私の上に、遠く高い世界が突然現れたように思われた。  派遣プログラムの応募学生は、第1次審査（英語のエッセイを含む書類選考）をクリアすると第2次審査（英語による電話インタビュー等）に進むことができる。 これに合格すると大会会場までの往復航空券、大会参加費、宿泊費を手にすることができる。 私が応募した2001年（フランス・トゥールーズ）には、16人の定員に80人以上が応募し、選考は激戦となった。 これを勝ち抜いて、合格の知らせを書面で受け取ったときの喜びを、今も覚えている。  IAC派遣は私を大きく変えた。宇宙分野の人脈が拡がり、宇宙開発の最先端を知り、そして共にIACに参加した仲間たちと今も続く親交を築いたことの意義は、計り知れない。 宇宙フォーラムによる募集要項 一次審査に提出したエッセイ 会場で発表したポスター IAC日程
