情報計算化学生物学会にて臓器チップ研究の成果を発表

2020年10月27日から30日に、情報計算化学生物学会(The Chem-Bio Informatics Society, CBI)の主催によりCBI学会2020年大会がオンラインで開催されました。2020年に始まったCBI学会年次大会は、情報計算化学・生物学分野の研究者や産官学の関係者の交流を目的として毎年開催されています。 2000年に初まり、Amazon Web Service、富士通やBruker社をスポンサーとするこの学会は、東京大学、大阪大学や理化学研究所など、日本トップクラスの研究者の参加により毎年の年会が行われています。この学会の「先端的計測技術」のフォーカストセッションで、高橋賢は ...

研究報告2019: Heart-on-chipによる心筋梗塞時不整脈のメカニズム解明

The principal investigator, Ken Takahashi, traveled to Boston, USA from the end of July 2018, and began research at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. His original plan was to complete the joint research at the end of July 2019 and return to Japan. Related: Joining Harvard Medical School However, Takahashi joined the “Blood-Brain Barrier Team” within the Wyss Institute, which has strong ties with industry including pharmaceutical companies. Ken Takahashi Wins Prestigious Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research from JSPS

Research project will study a new way to tackle myocardial infarction, stroke, and damage after kidney transplantation caused by ischemia–reperfusion injury Assistant Professor Ken Takahashi, Ph.D. at Okayama University was awarded Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (B) by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. JSPS is Japan’s sole independent funding agency with a mission of advancing science. The research fund carries an award of ~$140K to uncover the common mechanism for myocardial infarction, stroke, and damage after kidney transplantation. Ischemia–reperfusion injury occurs when blood perfusion is resumed after hours of restricted blood supply. During the ischemic period, toxic reactive oxygen species are accumulated in the blood. Ken Takahashi received the Outstanding Research Award in 2019 International Conference for Leading and Young Medical Scientists (IC-LYMS 2019) in Taipei, Taiwan, which was organized by Asia Pacific Society for Biology and Medical Sciences. The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform for the exchange and networking between top scientists, emerging young researchers, and students across a wide spectrum of biology and medical sciences. Nineteen presentations and three posters were presented at the conference, which took place four days from 20th to 23rd December 2019.
