Ken Takahashi received the Outstanding Research Award at the 2019 International Conference for Leading and Young Medical Scientists (IC-LYMS 2019) in Taipei, Taiwan, which was organized by the Asia Pacific Society for Biology and Medical Sciences. The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform for the exchange and networking between top scientists, emerging young researchers, and students across a wide spectrum of biological and medical sciences. Nineteen presentations and three posters were presented at the conference, which took place four days from 20th to 23rd December 2019. Dr. Chen Wang, Ph.D. student in Takahashi lab, won the 1st prize in the poster presentation at the 2019 International Conference for Leading and Young Medical Scientists (IC-LYMS 2019) held by the Asia Pacific Society for Biology and Medical Sciences in Taipei. She presented a poster presentation entitled “Roles of the TRPM4 channel in mitochondrial function, ROS generation, and calcium release in myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury”.
