kidney-on-a-chip

On March 18, 2022, Yin Liang from Takahashi Lab presented “Functional analysis of a kidney-on-a-chip using human renal proximal tubular epithelial cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells” at the 99th Annual Meeting of the Physiological Society of Japan, which was held in the online mode.

The kidney is an important organ that controls the reabsorption and excretion of substances such as glucose, urea nitrogen, and creatinine. In this research project, to develop a model of the human kidney, we used human renal proximal tubular epithelial cells (RPTECs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) to recapitulate the renal proximal tubule of the nephron.
